A Linen Blazer Styled 3 Ways

Sep 10, 2020

Morning and happy Thursday!

This week has weirdly crept by and I still can’t get my days straight. I missed two meetings on Tuesday thinking it was still Monday, anyone else? We don’t have much on the weekend agenda since Trevor is on call but hopeful we can get out for our Saturday morning walk. Zain looks forward to that blueberry lemon muffin all week 😉

This morning I am running Zain over to the pediatrician for their flu shot clinic. Just a friendly reminder to to get yours since this flu season will likely look much different with Covid-19. I am honestly having a little bit of anxiety about it because I feel like it’s been so long since he had a shot at the doctor and he seems so much more grown up now. I know he won’t like it so let’s cross our fingers it goes smoothly and if you have any helpful tips, send them my way!

Today, I’m excited to be back with another style session finally. Since so many of us haven’t been going anywhere (including myself) I have had less motivation and excitement about clothing. However, now that it feels like fall is upon us and I am thrilled about a new season. I also recently got this gorgeous linen blend blazer in from Shop One Third which is owned by my friend Anna and was so excited to show it to you all.

She has graciously given me a code to share for 15% off so be sure to use ‘SHAHEEN15‘ when you checkout! As far as sizing, I stayed true to size. I like blazers to have a more oversized boyfriend fit than tailored so I went with a Medium and love the way it fits. The cut is really flattering and the sleeves are actually long enough.

I’m also excited because I am teaming up with my friend Blair over on Instagram stories to each share 3 ways to wear the blazer. I think it’s always fun to see other people’s perspectives and if you all don’t know, Blair is on of my very best friends. We met through blogging years ago in Chicago and she and I became very close! We have experienced both of our pregnancies together which was not planned but amazing and she is probably the only person I talk to on the phone every day. I hope today’s post gives you some outfit inspiration!

End of Summer Feel

Blazer: Shop One Third | Shorts: AGolde – also here and here (My tried and true denim shorts! They are a little pricey but I have had them for years and they get more comfortable with time. Not tight on the thighs and the perfect length, order TTS)| Tee: Madewell (My go to white tee after trying every one I could get my hands on) | Mules: Old, similar – on sale!

This blazer immediately caught my eye because of the neutral palette and tiny detailed check but the material is also wonderful for this time of year. I think it will transition perfectly from summer into fall and not overwhelm your classic pieces.

This first look is how I would pair it now. As the weather starts to cool down a bit, I will transition most of my clothes this way! Pairing longer tops, knit sweaters and blazers with shorts and skirts. I feel like it’s an effortless way to look put together while still being comfortable!

Moving to Fall

Blazer: Shop One Third |Cami: BP – my favorite cami from the NSale a few years ago and it’s back in stock and on sale! | Jeans: Paige  | Boots: Old, similar

Probably the outfit I’m most excited about! In the beginning, we are all excited for those crisp temps and the leaves changing. I can’t wait to wear my slouchy boots and silk cami again and think this could be perfect for work or weekend!

Full on Winter

Blazer: Shop One Third | Sweater Dress: Line & Dot – Do not wait if you want this!!! It sold out so quickly last year and I was ecstatic to see it back. So soft, not itchy at all and I love the color. Order TTS as it runs big so you will still get that slouchy look! | Boots: Sam Edelman

Hope this serves as some inspiration to shop your own closet and get excited for fall! Don’t forget to use code ‘SHAHEEN15‘ if you snag a blazer. Always happy to support a female owned small business!
