A Sweater Dress Styled Three Ways

Jan 19, 2021

Good morning!

How was everyone’s long weekend? We laid low like most weekends but we did order pizza from The Post which if you are local is a must. We also finished Manhunt: Deadly Games on Netflix and I recommend it. At first, we thought it was a bit slow and there was some over acting but once we got into it we couldn’t stop watching. It follows the story of Richard Jewell who was the security officer that was accused of the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing after finding it. I thought it was really interesting and was also so sad that he passed away at only 44 years old which was just 10 years after his name was cleared. Why does this make me so emotional?

On a completely different note, today’s post is bringing back the ‘Shop Your Closet‘ series and I am excited for that. I feel like everyone (myself included) is getting a bit tired of loungewear 24/7. I mean don’t get me wrong that is 90% of my life but I have enjoyed getting dressed here and there. I wanted to show you a couple ways to wear a classic piece by mixing and matching pieces you hopefully already own.

This sweater dress is the star of the show and amazing. Mine is over a year old so I was excited to see it’s still being sold because I can not recommend it enough! It’s reasonably priced, not itchy, not tight and the most beautiful neutral tone. I wore it before, during  and after my pregnancy and it always looked like it worked. I do think it runs very large, I am wearing an XS and there is room to breathe for sure.

I styled it 3 ways below and as always let me know if you have any questions about style or fit!

A Tailored Look

Throw a tailored blazer over your dress and add a sleek pair of booties or heels and this could be perfect for work and then happy hour.

Blazer: Shop One Third – love this female owned small business! All of their coats are so well made and I’m wearing a medium. | Sweater Dress: Line & Dot | Booties: Sam Edelman, old – similar & similar | Handbag: Staud, old – similar | Necklace: Gorjana | Lips: Fresh Beauty

Date Night

Simple always wins with me and I love a knee high pair of boots for a dinner date.

Sweater Dress: Line & Dot | Boots: Tory Burch – available here also! Similar more budget friendly option here | Handbag: Staud, old – similar | Necklace: Gorjana | Lips: Fresh Beauty

Weekend Wear

How I wear this dress most often! Sneakers and a coat over top is comfortable and put together.

I hope this was helpful in sparking some inspiration and let me know what piece you would like to see next!

I absolutely love the outfits! They look super chic, perfect for everyday wear. If you can, I will like to see how you style the knee boots with other outfits, please ✨

    P.S. I started watching Manhunt & I’m loving it!

Thank you so much! If you search tall boots on my site you should see a ton of ideas! There is also a tab for Fall/Winter under the Style tab that will have several examples. Ohhh it’s great!
