Not much gets me as excited as good burrata.
Top that with it being in a local winery that also makes their own delicious rosé and you have the recipe for the perfect spot. The West Loop is a great neighborhood we frequent often but City Winery is a bit down Randolph. I didn’t discover it till I attended an event there a little over a year ago and had never tried the burrata till about 6 months ago.
Ever since that day I have been on a rampage ordering burrata everywhere we go. Always hoping it would be as delicious and sadly I was always disappointed. For those who don’t love cheese as much as I do burrata is a fresh Italian cheese that combines mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is mozzarella and the inside is a creamy mixture. Trust me, you need it in your life.
Last week I headed there for a lunch date and was excited to pull out this green Ann Taylor trench dress I snagged last season. It is such a classic piece that even though it was warming up I knew I had to have it. It doubles as a trench and dress and I’ve worn it both ways with jeans and a tee or heels. It’s such a versatile piece for fall and winter and I think would look amazing with tall boots as it gets colder too.
I paired it with these new nude block heels that I waited to come in stock for months. I love a single strap heel and am happy to see block heels back in style. They offer way more support and look beautiful. I found a ton of similar options to my trench dress and rounded up a few of my favorites below for you to browse.
Let me know if you make it into City Winery anytime soon and you can thank me for the burrata later!
