Despite the snow being beautiful in this picture I can assure you it was terribly cold by the lake! Blair & I had brunch at Beatrix and decided to run over and shoot some quick pictures before we realized how intolerable it would be. I’m actually surprised my face is not distraught in all of these haha.

I was excited to shoot this look though because I’m super jazzed about belting coats! I think it is such a fun way to make a bulky coat a bit more fitted and add some fun hardware to your look. This belt is an oldie from Forever 21 and i think adds some fun edge to the plaid coat. I paired it with my legging jeans (i.e. the most comfortable jeans ever) and my oxblood booties. These boots have served me well and i love how the heel is gradient so they don’t ever hurt my feet.

luckily i warmed up later that night at our friend’s birthday party at Atlas Brewing Company and bowled in the vintage bowling alley after which was a blast. however, don’t underestimate how hard it is to keep written bowling scores…

hope you all have a wonderful start to your week!

  1. I love this coat and the way you have styled it. I once had a scarf in the same pattern – which I bought in Scotland! – but lost it in a cab a few years ago and have mourned it ever since. I think it’s such a great print – classic and stylish.

  2. I LOVE everything about this. The jacket, the bag and booties. You nailed it (without looking cold!)!
