it’s memorial day weekend people! it’s only right to enjoy a nice cookout with some cocktails & sweet treats. lately, i have been trying out a ton of new cocktail recipes with bourbon since it’s my husbands drink of choice. the problem is i tend to not like it as much so have been searching for some sweeter concoctions we can both enjoy. i grabbed some fresh blackberries to add a bit of that & the result turned out simple and delicious!
just combine the basil, sugar, water, & blackberries and muddle well. then add bourbon over crushed ice and mix into the blackberry concoction. garnish with fresh blackberries and basil & enjoy!
let me know how you like it & if you are still searching for a sweet this recipe is still one of my faves & was featured on Vince Camuto’s blog The Crest yesterday!
ingredients:
6 blackberries (a few more to garnish)
5-6 fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 oz water
1 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
crushed ice
