last week i was so excited to enjoy a Gilt City fall day with the girls! with so much craziness at work it was the perfect surprise to break up the week. we started the night at the Chicago Distilling Company where we went on a tour with one of the owners. it was fascinating to learn the science behind bourbon and whiskey making – especially for a girl from kentucky. nobody else seemed quite as excited as me to try the moonshine…hah.

the business is completely family run by the DiPrizio’s and his dad was busy in the back bottling until he left to watch the cubs game while we were there – so sweet. after tasting gin, bourbon, and chocolate whiskey we were definitely ready for dinner.

we headed over to Presidio which is fairly new to bucktown and i would love to have their interior decorator come over to my house. everything from the bar stools to the table settings were stunning and it’s the perfect spot for a date night. i had the scallops for dinner which were a new menu item & to die for and every cocktail i tried from the table was delicious. it’s a great addition to the neighborhood and i will definitely be back to try brunch with trevor soon!
