Our Guest Bedroom Makeover: Before & After

Good morning friends!

We’re going on two weekends in a row of Trevor being on call so this girl is actually happy to see Monday! I’m also thrilled to share today’s post with EasyCare Paint from True Value! Our guest bedroom as you probably saw here, was more of just a hodgepodge of old pieces. We threw it together quickly after moving in so family and friends could have some space but then kind of forgot about it.

Now that we are approaching being in our home for a year (crazy, right?!) I had a few things I was determined to get done. This guest bedroom was at the top of that list and I have to tell you, I am thrilled with how it came together. My first big decision was the accent wall and that’s where EasyCare Paint came in and saved the day! Their EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint is a paint-and-primer in one which was a lifesaver!!! It’s also is low-odor, low-VOC and 100% acrylic which helped a ton considering I was painting in a very small space. In addition to being almost odor-free, EasyCare Paint is Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), certified, which means the paint minimizes irritants and pollutants in the air and reduces potential allergens. It’s also extremely stain resistant which is key for us since Zain plays up here all the time and we tend to have lots of visitors.

After deciding on the paint brand, I had to tackle color! I ordered samples of three shades from the blue and green families and let the swatches settle for a few days. I can’t recommend this enough! Your first instinct may not always be your best and I’m so glad I held off because the color I decided on was not my first choice. We ended up settling on EasyCare Paint Wishing Well in the flat sheen and I think it works so well! It only took me one coat of paint and I was thrilled to not have to go back over areas. I think paint is the best way to make a difference when it comes to home decor while still being mindful of cost.

After the wall was painted, the rest kind of flowed together! I spotted this acrylic art while shopping that week and then these oversized pink pillows the next day. As someone who normally plans her decor scheme far in advance and withe incredible detail, I’m happy with how this just naturally came together.

We wanted a space that was chic but still warm and inviting and I think we accomplished that! What do you all think of the transformation?
