I don’t know about you guys but shopping is not currently on my agenda. It’s such a weird time between seasons plus January may be the longest month of the year. I’m not necessarily excited to find new sweaters or coats and it’s a bit too early to really look for spring and summer wear, unless you happen to be going on vacation.
So when in doubt always turn to your own closet. I’m sure there are a million new combinations you haven’t tried that would look great and that’s exactly what I did when I packed for Chicago last time. Nothing I’m wearing here is new but I had never paired any of it together. It’s not groundbreaking but an easy way to use what you have.
Since black jeans are something everyone usually owns along with a good pair of black pumps start there. These are my go to black pair that keep their color and look polished! From there, just try mixing and matching tops with a classic set of bottoms and shoes like these.
Since I was heading out with girlfriends this plaid silk cami was perfect! It’s not the first time I’ve championed the silk cami and if you don’t have one I highly suggest it. They work for every season and you can find plenty at amazing prices.
If you happen to be dressing for work or something more casual I love a classic white button up with a sweater layered over. (I think mock neck’s look especially cute over them!) You can also try a stripe tee with a leather jacket or blazer on top and just layer a coat over.
Do you guys like shopping your own closet? I am thinking of trying a new series this year where I remix pieces I already have because #reallife and share multiple ways to wear one item. Let me know if you want to see that in the comments!
