Life Lately Vol. II

Apr 8, 2016

I’m so excited to get back to one of these life lately posts! So much has been going on & we are starting to finally feel settled. I am hoping Chicago gets the warm weather memo soon but it helps that I am currently in Dallas for the Reward Style Conference.

We Moved!

It feels like so long ago but we just made the move two weekends ago! It seemed to sneak up on us and then seemed to fly by! In the past Trevor and I have always moved ourselves. After 3 moves in Chicago we couldn’t believe we ever decided to do that and thought it best to hire someone this time around. We also used Redi-Box at the recommendation of my friend Lindsay and couldn’t have been happier! These red boxes are delivered to your door with rolling dollies and sticks to label. They lock in closed so there is no taping boxes, no waste & no worry that a box is going to break open during the move. It also makes the movers life a million times easier since they can stack up to 8 boxes on each dolly and roll them out. This cuts down your hours for movers and is so worth it! If you are in the market and moving I can’t recommend them enough and I love that they are a a local company. When you are all moved in you can choose a pick up time and they come and snag everything from you – life saver.

Slowly Decorating.

I know I talked about how excited I was to create a desk space finally and overall just revamp our decor. I have slowly been adding new pieces since we sold so many of our old ones and am loving the direction everything is moving. This week we finally got around to hanging things on the wall and it is finally starting to feel like home. Some of my favorite pieces thus far are this rug & pouf! Trevor had been asking for some sort of foot rest for the longest time and this made us both very happy. I feel like sometimes home decor is hard to picture on websites so full posts on our place coming soon but for now I’ll be sharing sneak peek’s on Instagram & Snapchat!

Chop Chop.

I finally made the leap and got my hair chopped! It’s a lot like my lob from before and thank you so much for your encouragement it helped me commit. I ended up trying a new salon that was super close to our new place in West Town. Sine Qua Non was adorable from the moment I stepped in. The poppy wallpaper drew me in right away – I don’t know why decor and packaging has become so fun for me to observe. My stylist was Libby and so good – she listened to my weird fears and shortened it slowly to make sure it wasn’t too much for me. If you are in the market for a new salon I highly recommend it and know they have locations in a few other spots!

Be Kind.

It’s been a whirlwind of a few weeks with the move, working & everything piling up. It was a great reminder to be kind to yourself and surround yourself with loving friends and family. When things get super crazy I am so thankful for those people and it’s so key to remember that’s whose opinion matters. I had a few reminders of that over the past few days and I have to say I’m a lucky girl when it comes to family & friends and thankful for the close ones I’ve made here in Chicago!
