Our Week Away in Florida

Apr 19, 2021

First sip of rosé when we arrived at our rental tasted like heaven!

Good morning friends!

I was trying to get this post together as soon as possible so I could share our rental info and answer some of the other FAQ I received while we were on vacation. I will be sharing another post next week on how traveling was, especially with kids during this odd time so stay tuned for that.

How is everyone’s week going? I don’t know about you but after a vacation you almost need another vacation at home to recuperate. We have started referring to trips as ‘family adventures’ because often times when you are traveling with kids it’s not entirely relaxing 😉 Overall, we had an amazing time and I am so thankful we were able to sneak away for a bit of sunshine and a new view. Family trips can be tiring since your kids are in a new environment and it takes some adjustment but it’s always worth it.

Where we stayed:

We went to Ft.Lauderdale and this is the Airbnb we rented! Zain is a fish and when we were in South Carolina he hardly ever got out of the pool so having our own pool was a must. We also planned on not leaving the rental so wanted to make sure it had everything we needed: a grill, open space, a nice backyard and enough rooms for the kids and my parents to sleep comfortably.

Since we would be flying finding a rental that had a pack and play crib and high chair was a huge plus!!! I just brought along a crib sheet and it was so nice to leave behind everything else.

We really liked the rental and I would definitely recommend. The house was tidy, well decorated, comfortable and perfect for a family. If you have any other questions feel free to let me know!

What I Wore:

I tried to link to as much of what I truly wore while we were away! I packed a few outfits and dresses but since we never left the house I found myself in workout gear or swimsuits the whole week and I was okay with that.

Morning coffee on the front porch!

These pajamas are some of my favorites and run TTS, I’m in a medium. The pants are cropped perfectly and I love the silk tie. I also swear by this lip especially while on vacation. It has SPF and adds the perfect glow while moisturizing.

Our front porch view

Sun Visor | Sunglasses | Bikini Top, Bikini Bottom – this suit is several years old but I found this affordable version that is identical! I have found that their swim runs TTS. | Slides – I love these waterproof slides and suggest sizing up if in between. They come in a million patterns and colors and are under $50. | Sarong – a great $15 cover up that comes in a ton of colors! Would work well as something to wear from the pool to lunch. | Drink Tumbler

Lounging with my girl! Sunglasses!

Zahra’s Rashguard | Zahra’s Swimsuit | Zahra’s Hat

Bikini Set | Zain’s Trunks | Zain’s Goggles | Zain’s Swim Vest

My cuties!

Thanks to my parent’s we were able to get out for a few walks and runs alone! I shared on stories but these $30 running shorts have been amazing!!! They are a great length and don’t touch my thighs while working out or running. Run TTS, I’m in a medium.

My big boy!

Shirt | Shorts – these are my favorite for him! So easy to pull on and off and not too long plus they are $6 and usually on sale. | Sandals

Zahra’s Flamingo Float | Zahra’s Shark Float

The BEST swim cover up! I bought this a few years ago and still reach for it most often. My mom ordered it while we were in Florida 😉 Its perfect buttoned or unbuttoned, is light and breezy and looks way more expensive than $18.

Bikini – you all know my love for this suit! Has removable straps, pads and does a great job covering the peach. It also has the most flattering ruffle on the bottom especially post baby.

Got dressed up for no reason 😉 My dress is a random $10 H&M find and will keep my eye out If it happens to be stocked. These sandals however are my go-to and they have so many great affordable styles!

Our last day at the beach!

Swimsuit – I finally got to wear this suit which I bought last year for our babymoon. It’s such a great style and perfect for a bump and post, especially if you are nursing. The top wraps and the straps are adjustable. Runs TTS, I’m in a medium but could have done a small as well. | Face Sunscreen – this is what I love and wrote a full post on what I use for the kids and our bodies! | Roll Up Visor – I love my big hats when I am home but gave up on traveling with them. This visor is so great because I can still wear my hair up and it rolls up into a tiny thing for travel.

Zain is all of us at the end of the day 😉

Rashguard | Sun Hat

Thanks for this timely post! And love that button down cover up… but the link is wrong. Where can I find it? Thank you!

It’s the correct link but Amazon just switches a few white styles in and out when they are in stock. If you don’t see it, it’s probably sold out but I would check back!
