Valentine’s Day weekend in Louisville was such a pleasant break from reality! It was nice to enjoy some warmer weather, a day date in Louisville with Trevor and celebrate some really exciting news. With my expanding belly, I have been living in fitted midi dresses and this new one from Pink Blush has been a favorite. It’s soft and stretchy in all the right places and looks exactly like the non maternity version I have, that has always been a favorite.

It’s nice to not feel like you are wearing totally different cuts of clothes or patterns while pregnant, since you already feel like you are morphing into someone else. The weather was on the warmer side so I decided to finally bust out my mules. It’s been so long since I have been able to wear open toe shoes and it felt great!

We decided to head to Gralehaus for a late brunch. We had only been once, a few years ago when it first opened and we both remembered loving it. The food didn’t disappoint and I love how they renovated the old church in the back into an outdoor space. I totally reccomend it if you are in the area!

We wanted to grab a bite to eat with just the two of us since we had some exciting news to celebrate! Trevor signed a job contract! It has been months of wondering where we would be living right after we had our baby boy so it’s a huge relief to know, WE ARE STAYING IN CHICAGO!

We had such mixed feelings and really debated moving back to Louisville, but the stars aligned for us here and we are excited and happy to stay put after the baby is born. It’s funny because when I moved to this city 7 years ago, I would have told you I would be back home in Louisville by now, settled down with a family and ready to live that suburb life. In all reality, I am nowhere near ready to leave the city and can’t image my life much different than it is now. I guess it’s a great lesson in going with the flow and not trying to plan too much in advance.

We are so relieved and excited for this next chapter and I can’t believe Trevor is finally done with school in June, only took 25 years! Thank you for all your encouragement and messages during the job search and I have even more sweet news to share with you!

Pink Blush is giving away $75 to a lucky reader and they have everything from non maternity to maternity so don’t be scared to enter if you aren’t expecting! Just make sure to leave a comment on this blog post, ‘like’ my Facebook page and follow my Instagram account to enter! I’ll announce the winner next week, good luck!

  9. Gralehaus is only a few blocks from my house, and it’s hands down one of the best brunches in town. Also the burger from Holy Grale is DELICIOUS!
