Whole 30 Success

Jan 29, 2016

I can’t believe it’s the end of January and we made it through Whole 30. It’s a bit weird to think back and realize we cut so many things out of our diet because it’s become so normal that I forgot about cheese & chocolate. How is that possible, really.

I won’t say that it didn’t have it’s hard moments – being at friends birthday parties and not enjoying a cocktail, realizing eating out is almost impossible & you would rather just eat at home & did I mention dessert?!

We have decided to stick with our meal planning because it made getting through the week in a healthy way super easy. It just takes a bit of preparation over the weekend and by the second week we learned making a crock pot meal and having some frozen things on hand were lifesavers. If you are interested Trader Joe’s has tons of healthy frozen options that are Whole 30 compliant – just check out the Whole 30 recipes instagram for a list!

Slowly but surely we will add cheese & some grains into our diet again but probably not that often. The biggest thing that has changed for me personally is when I think I ‘need’ food. My eating pattern drastically changed and I no longer feel the need to snack all day & especially at night after dinner. Stress eating is so comforting for me and this has helped me knock that out.

If you are thinking of giving it a go I highly recommend it and just try to stick through those first few days that are rough – it gets easier, I promise. Also, definitely have an accountability partner to keep you on track I couldn’t have done it without Trevor! Overall, it was totally worth it for us and Iet me know if you have any questions about the program!

Girrrl, I’m so impressed! I’m not one to snack much during the day, but I definitely don’t hold back on my meals. It’s been hard watching what I’ve been eating this month between work events and dinners out. I’m determined to make February a little better 🙂
