Winters (especially Chicago winters) are not only rough on my soul but also on my skin. Every year, I search for new products and moisturizers that can help me combat the cold temperatures, low humidity and dry air. Winter seems to instantly pull the moisture out of my skin and I’m constantly trying to combat it. I thought I would share some things that have been helping me thus far and the inside scoop on a new moisturizer I have been using!
Wash Your Face in Warm Water
As much as I love a steaming hot shower in the winter the woman who did my facial said that I should only use lukewarm water to avoid stripping the oils from my face and I actually feel like it’s working. I’ve been sticking to warm water when I shower and wash my face at night and it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.
Moisturize After You Wash
This goes for your face and body! I try to keep moisturizer next to my bathtub, bed, dresser—you name it. Having it easily accessible to me makes it much easier for me to remember to lather it on.
Choose Your Moisturizer Wisely
This winter, I decided to test out a new moisturizer right when the cold temperatures really hit to see how it helped my skin. The interesting thing about this particular moisturizer was I had no idea who made it! I was part of a blind test group who was sent a moisturizer in an unmarked jar and asked to use it for two weeks to gauge results. I’m sure you probably saw me testing it out on Instagram and I loved that I could share it with you guys in real time. All I knew was the product was called Whip.
When I first received the jar and opened it, I was immediately drawn to the amazing smell and liked the lightweight feel on my face. I would routinely use Whip and no other moisturizer in the morning and at night before I went to bed. I’ve shared a before and after of my skin below and really feel like it helped not only even out the tone of my skin but left me looking less dry. I was really happy with the results and happy to find a moisturizer that stayed on all day! I never had to worry about reapplying it or having it feel heavy on my skin.
I was excited for the brand reveal and not surprised that Olay was the brand behind the cream! I have been a longtime fan of Olay and always trusted their products. I am honestly still using and loving Olay Regenerist Whip and if you want to try it out for yourself you can order it here!
As counterintuitive as this had sounded to me in the past, I have started doing this on my face and body once a week. I try to use an all-natural exfoliant and make sure to follow up with my moisturizer.
Staying hydrated is always important but especially during the winter. Your skin is losing so much moisture with the weather changing and you can help counteract that by taking in all the fluids! I try to drink hot water with lemon once a day when I wake up in the morning.
The first day I used Whip! The texture was light and soft and it smelled amazing!
Two weeks after using Whip daily, I felt like my skin was even and dewy even without makeup on!
The brand reveal! Olay was the mastermind behind the Whips moisturizer and I have been happy to use it ever since!
This post was sponsored by Olay. As always, all opinions are my own and thank you for supporting brands that make Lows to Luxe possible!
