Morning! What a rainy and gloomy day guys. I don’t know about you but sun greatly affects my mood, productivity and happiness. I am beyond ready to leave for vacation Monday but am excited for the weekend first.

Trevor’s brother and fam are coming in Friday and his mom and dad Saturday and I am so excited to see them. Since their little boy Baylor and Zain are just days apart it’s always so sweet to see them together. The rain is supposed to let up on Friday and Saturday so I think we are going to explore The Science Center Saturday morning and then go out to lunch. Not sure where yet so if you have any kid friendly recommendations around there let me know!

I am also going to try to get us packed up for Las Vegas this weekend. This trip was kind of last minute and random but we are joining my parent’s for the week and I’m so excited. Warm weather, hiking, museums and a date night are on the agenda. Also, you all sent in the best Las Vegas recommendations on Instagram so I will be sure to round them all up in a post in the next few weeks. I had previously loathed Las Vegas mainly because the last time I was there was a disaster. Bachlorette party gone bad and to top it off I lost my driver’s license and was panicked to get home. This time around will be very different and I was surprised at how many of you sent in great kid friendly ideas and activities so that has me excited!

As for today’s post, it’s a classic. I think I mentioned over on stories how I haven’t been shopping lately and that I don’t want to encourage the idea that we always need to be buying things. I have been trying to shop my closet and share ideas that you could perhaps make your own and give you some examples of how to mix and match them. A lot of what I wear are more classic pieces (neutral tones, classic cuts) so I always recommend investing in those!

Buying trendier items is fine occasionally but you will build a much more useful wardrobe with staples you can mix and match. Maybe I’ll create a capsule wardrobe soon to showcase how I do that? Good idea?

This moto jacket was a purchased a few years ago and I still wear it all the time. In hindsight I may have gone with the camel color but was such a sucker for this emerald. It does run TTS and I like the look of a slightly bigger jacket so I think I could have gone with the medium instead of the small also. I paired it with one of my favorite tanks! It’s the best crepe material I’ve found and I own it in several colors and in the dress version

Throw on a pair of classic black crops and loafers and you are set to go! I think this could work for weekend, weekday or office attire depending on how dressy your office is. If jeans aren’t allowed at your job, just pair with a pair of silk trousers or dress pants and you are good to go!

Hope you guys are all having a great week!
