Life Lately VI

Jul 8, 2016

Happy Friday! It’s been a short week and I still couldn’t be more excited for the weekend. It’s been a few days of catch up and organizing my life while still trying to enjoy the holiday weekend. I got back from my Boston travel last Wednesday night and was at the office late Thursday and Friday. This weekend I finally unpacked my bag, cleaned & tried to catch up.

Home is always a good idea: Before taking off for Boston I was excited to head home to Louisville for a relaxing weekend. My brother, sister in law, nieces and nephew and Trevor and I haven’t all been home together in over 2 years. Since we all live here my parents tend to visit frequently but it was so nice to head back and hang with the whole family. I got to catch up with some of my sweetest high school friends (really they’re whole life friends) and spend lots of time outside.

Trevor’s gone: Ugh, writing this even makes me sad. Despite telling myself he would never be home I still wasn’t prepared. His first day of work I didn’t hear from him all day and it was a Friday night. I stayed in because I was exhausted but he didn’t walk through the door till about 10 pm. Sadly, it’s our new reality but I can tell you I won’t be taking days off with him for granted anymore!

Boston: Ahhh, the time of my life! I was so excited to head to Boston with Marshalls. I am so happy to be a Brand Ambassador this year for a company I love so much – I mean who doesn’t love Marshalls? The trip was packed with activities, dinners & shopping in the stores before opening. It was so refreshing to engage with a company that believes in our individual visions and wants to collaborate and not dictate. I can not say enough great things about all the wonderful people I met and the other girls in the program. It was an amazing experience I won’t forget and can’t wait to share more details soon!

July 4th: The long weekend was one for the books. We ran errands and did lots of adulting Saturday so we could enjoy the rest of the weekend. We headed to Blair and Rob’s for a pool day on Sunday and out to my brother’s on Monday for fireworks. It was a great way to relax and recoup and I was beyond thrilled Trevor had the weekend off!

Back in the kitchen: I feel like it’s been a while since I have cooked and really been creative in the kitchen. I hope you enjoyed the meatball recipe – I mean what sounds better after work and I can’t wait to share more with you soon! If you have any requests send them my way!

Windy City Smokeout: I’m already getting excited because the Windy City Smokeout is just a few weeks away and everyone last year told me it was one of their favorite festivals. We are heading there on Friday & Sunday – we have a wedding out of town Saturday and you can snag your 3 day passes right now for only $75 with code LUXE. Let me know if you decide to go and hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
