I distinctly remember someone telling me ‘Lots of people don’t look pregnant and then they hit 20 weeks and it’s like, yep she’s pregnant!’ Well they must be a fortune teller because that’s exactly how I feel! Now, in my 23rd week I feel fully pregnant and there is no hiding it! I have been living in these Madewell maternity jeans, I picked them up in black and a frayed blue denim wash because the fit is so amazing. I always thought that I would prefer the over the belly band jeans, since I am normally a high waisted jean type of girl but so far these under belly ones have been my favorite. I think as I get bigger I may transition to the belly band, any advice?

I also started picking up some button up blouses that flow and feel cozy over my belly. I loved this Séraphine polka dot top and thought the front pleats were oh so flattering. I’m not usually a polka dot girl but these big dots combined with the crisp white color made me feel a bit more retro.

I paired everything with my go to loafers and bucket bag for a fun work day downtown. These days have been all about comfort and this look was perfect for a full day of working and then girls night! I met Blair, Jess and Kelly at Americano 2211 for dinner in Bucktown. It’s a new spot that took over where Birchwood Kitchen used to be and up until recently only served brunch and acted as a cafe so we were excited to try the dinner menu! It definitely didn’t disappoint and I totally reccomend it if you haven’t been! It was a nice reminder to get out of the house, even when it’s freezing and to make time for your girlfriends. Life can get so busy but a little girl time over burgers is always a good idea. Hope you all have a wonderful hump day!

Once you enter the third trimester invest in some Joe’s jeans over the belly jeans. I felt like the under the belly ones kept riding down and I could never got comfortable. The Joe’s jeans are so soft you will live in them!

  5. I felt the same way once I got past 20 weeks. You look amazing. Loving that fun top with your loafers.

  6. that blouse is darling. I also got the same madewell pairs and I love them (thanks for the recommendation) . I am also carrying a little bigger than you, and found them to be a little uncomfortable because they were getting tighter and under my belly. I was scared of the over the belly but I got a pair and they are so comfortable.

    • Oh thank you and I’m so glad you liked them! I just snagged my first pair of over the belly too and they’re still a little big but the actual jeans are so comfy!!! I think everything is going to start to expand real quick soon 😉
