time to ring in the new year and what better way then sequins, crop tops, and my first blogger collaboration! new year’s eve is even more special these days since it’s our wedding anniversary! we’re celebrating two years today and that makes the festivities a bit more meaningful.

in case you haven’t checked out Shannon from upbeat soles by now i highly suggest you do, she does an amazing job styling looks 🙂 when she let me know express was having their annual 50% off sale i added this skirt to my closet immediately. the sequins are matte which allows the piece to be a statement but not overwhelming. it’s already been on rotation for holiday parties and dinners with a simple sweater or tank.

i decided to be a bit more daring and did a crop top for the style post, making sure just a tiny sliver of skin was showing. the longer sleeve and wintery pattern made it feel more appropriate for the season & this houndstooth print is so on trend.

because of all the black and white i decided to add a pop of red with a bright lip and some stunning shoes. these heels are perfect for new year’s eve and although the heel is quite the statement i love the simplicity of the thin straps and will use these over and over again.
