The 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

the 2019 nordstrom anniversary sale

Some of my favorite finds from last year!

Good morning dear friends!

This post is finally LIVE and the sale should be soon too 🙂 If you have a Nordstrom card Early Access will begin Friday at 12:30pm EST which is different from year’s past so I will be sure to keep you all updated. If you happen to be an Icon or Ambassador in the Nordy club you can start shopping online today at 12:30pm EST which is why I wanted to get this up!

I normally never advocate for getting a store card’s but if you like this sale, it’s a great reason to have one. My Nordstrom card is actually the only card I have aside from my credit card and it’s so I can shop this sale.

So, I covered this a bit on Instagram but here’s what you can expect from me as far as the sale goes: CURATED CONTENT! As you have probably noticed I don’t consistently shop, buy new things or recommend that you do. I’m happy to help with styling and shopping big sales like this but I don’t think more is more. Browse your wardrobe and identify what areas you are lacking in. Then look into those specific categories of the sale and stick to basics. Obviously, a random thing may catch your eye and go for that if it’s a good deal but overall stick to what you need.

These are all new fall and winter pieces that are heavily discounted and some of the bigger items are my most recommended. I broke everything down by category below and underneath that, I shared a blurb about my thoughts on the inventory overall.

After that I have specific descriptions of pieces I already own or purchased myself along with sizing information. Below that, you can see larger images of all those items and click on any to shop!

I have said in year’s past that things would restock so not to freak out but sadly they aren’t anymore. Almost everything I missed out on last year or got the wrong size in never came back in stock so my advice is to order whatever you think you may want in multiple sizes if you are unsure and return later.

I really hope that this is helpful and stay tuned for try on videos on Instagram stories today or Friday and an update to this post from in store!

COATS

Okay, this is a bigger category for me! I tried to be very selective in what I picked but they had a ton of great options this year. Identify what kind of outerwear you really need and shop accordingly so it’s not overwhelming!

Bernardo Hooded Faux Wrap Coat: I love this grey color and thought the wrap plus hood was super cute!

Avec Les Filles Wool Blend Coat: More of an investment coat but I love their pieces. The exposed zipper is a great detail and order TTS.

Vince Double Breasted Coat: My #1 investment coat recommendation. Chic, neutral and great quality.

Topshop Carly Coat: A more budget friendly version of the Vince coat. Same silhouette and a nod to menswear.

BB Dakota Shearling Coat: I’m pretty much on board with any teddy coat and think this could work as an everyday throw on and go piece.

ASTR Plaid Flannel Coat: I’m not huge on the plaid coat’s this year but this lilac caught my eye! I like the more structured feel and think it’s a great price point.

Halogen Hooded Rain Jacket: My pick if you need an anorak! I like the longer length, texture and colors.

Madewell Rivington Sweater Coat: This is most similar to the sweater coat I snagged last year and I actually like this silhouette better. I would order TTS or size down for a more fitted feel.

Bernardo Double Face Wrap Coat: A great classic wrap coat that will never go out of style.

BB Dakota Wrap Front Faux Suede Jacket: LOVE this! Perfect to throw on with jeans or a dress and I you will get so much wear out of it. Runs TTS.

1.State Plaid Blazer: I feel like these blazers have been on trend for a while and I love that these sleeves are already ruched. It’s how I wear all my blazers and it’s nice that it’s done for you! I think the length and plaid is perfect . Run TTS.

Blank NYC Suede Moto Jacket: My favorite coat purchase from the NSale years ago. I own it in emerald but think the neutrals are the way to go. It looks so chic with almost anything and runs TTS.

Madewell Fleet Jacket: I love the cut and color of this jacket but it is more of a bold color choice. I think it’s perfect for fall and it runs TTS.

Thread & Supply Wubby Fleece Pullover: It’s BAACKKKK! Everyone bought this last year and it was gone in a flash. It’s basically a blanket and I live in mine. Order TTS.

SWEATERS

Another one of my favorite categories to shop during the sale! It’s weird to think about sweaters when it’s sweltering outside but I have missed out on a few of these over the past few years so made sure to snag them early.

Leith Longline Sweater:  A favorite from year’s past and I sized down in it!

Free People Popcorn Sweater: My #1 pick this year! It was a little more than I wanted to spend on a sweater but I LOVE it. I sized down in the brand especially since it’s oversized.

Chelsea28 Funnel Neck Sweater: LOVE this sweater and already have it bookmarked this year. The funnel neck is so chic and I will order TTS.

Gibson Twist Front Pullover: I bought this two years ago and still wear it constantly. My friends actually text each other during the winter to make sure we aren’t all wearing it at the same time. Runs TTS and the softest material ever!

Madewell Ryder Cardigan: I own this cardigan in a million colors and love it! It’s a great basic and if you are missing a color in your wardrobe snag it. Runs TTS.

Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan: The BD cardigan’s are a little pricier but so worth it. They are the softest things ever (I live under one of their blankets at home) and would do a neutral in these! Runs TTS.

Caslon Tunic Sweatshirt: I included this because I know #momlife is a lot of leggings for me and I always need tops that are longer to cover the booty. I think this is a great piece for everyday wear and runs TTS.

Leith Ribbed Wrap Sweater: Love this so much and so happy they brought it back! Great for weekends or work and I bought this in my normal size last year.

Free People Knit Tunic: This is another piece that I think is well worth the money! I have it in red and wore it my entire pregnancy! It’s perfect tucked into jeans, with leggings and is very bump friendly 🙂

DENIM

Okay, I own a lot of denim. I have racked up an embarrassing amount of jeans over the years but almost all of them I bought during the anniversary sale. I like premium denim and think they hold up well so it’s worth the investment for me. I also wear denim 90% of my life outside of work.

Madewell 10 inch High Waist Skinny: One of my favorite jeans and on sale in a true blue. Order TTS.

Rag & Bone Nina High Waist Ankle Skinny Jean: The best high waist raw hem jean! I order a size up in these and love them for all year.

Paige Hoxton High Waist Skinny Jean: One of my favorite denim brands and a great one to shop during the sale. These are a true black with the perfect amount of distressing. Order TTS.

Caslon Crop Utility Pant: I love these in the solid green and think they are great work or weekend slack. I will order TTS and think you could dress these up with heels or down with sneakers!

Frame Le Skinny Crop Jean: Another brand I love to buy during the sale. Their jeans tend to be pricey but I love the fit and styles. This cropped version was a huge hit last year and I bought TTS.

AG Prima Skinny Jean: A great classic blue jean that has the most amazing stretch. I bought these last year and love them! I ordered down a size!

Levi’s 721 High Waist Skinny Jean: I love how affordable Levi’s jeans are and they are all usually under $60 during the sale. I will say every pair of Levi’s I own fits differently and I wear this pair TTS but size up in the wedgie!

Topshop High Waist Jean: I don’t own these but tried them on last year and think they fit amazing! They are a great budget friendly jean and come in a ton of colors.

TOPS

I tried to be very selective with this category since there was so much I loved! I rounded up some of my favorite basics and a few tops I think would be great for work.

BP Lace Trim Cami: My #1 pick for tops! I bought this in black last year and get asked about it ALL the time. It sold out so insanely fast so if you want, I would get it quick. I will buy it in a few new colors this year and wear TTS.

BP Fitted Crewneck Tee: This is a new item this year and I love it! Order TTS.

Madewell Wrap Top: This is my top pick for a work friendly top. I love the expensive texture of this blouse and anything that can double for the office and weekend is a win. Plus, it’s breastfeeding friendly 😉

1.State Peplum Top: This was a close contender for favorite top that can double for work and weekend. The pleating is so flattering and I think the fabric looks super luxe.

Halogen Fine Rib Crewneck Tee: So flattering and such a great basic! This is another new item this year and I will order a few TTS.

Caslon Thermal Henley Top: I love this! The button detailing with the longer hemline in the back are perfection. I will size down in this top!

Halogen Long Sleeve Turtleneck: Another basic everyone should have! I wear mine with skirts, under cardigans or just with a classic pair of denim and fun shoes. Order TTS.

Caslon Long Sleeve Scoop Neck Tee: Another purchase of mine from a few years ago that has held up really well. Order TTS.

BP Long Sleeve Waffle Knit Top: I think this is a great piece that could work for work or weekend depending on how formal your office is. It could be cute with a cami too!

ACTIVEWEAR

I haven’t bought a ton of activewear in the past but this year I will stock up. I work out more consistently but they also included my favorite sports bra, leggings, no show socks and more!

Zella Live in High Waist Leggings: My go to leggings aside from the Amazon pair 😉 These hold up over time (I’ve had a few for several years) and are snug in all the right places.

Spanx 7/8 Leggings: I have never tried this style in particular but love my camo Spanx leggings so will order these! Run TTS.

Nike Indy Sports Bra: My #1 go to sports bra! I’m so excited this is included in the sale and can’t recommend it enough. Order TTS.

Zella Sunray Sports Bra: Another bra I love for working out! Order TTS.

Alo Longline Sports Bra: Another great sports bra I have heard about from friends. I don’t personally own this one but heard it’s great for support.

Alo Cover Tank: If you are into crop tops, this is my favorite! I love this for yoga classes with high waisted leggings!

Zella Gen Tee: I needed a long sleeve for fall and winter runs so I will snag this! I will order TTS to throw on over tanks or just a sports bra.

Alo Moto Sweatpants: Okay, I used to not believe in spending real money on sweatpants and/or joggers but then I had Zain ha! I wear joggers out a lot so it’s worth it for me to have a few pairs that are cute. I love these and the other jogger below the most! Order TTS.

Caslon Asymmetrical Wrap Coat: This is a great option to throw on over workout clothes to get to class or just to wear on the weekends!

Zella No Show Socks: These are my no show socks I work out in and are worth every penny. Stock up!

BB Dakota Hooded Rib Coat: I loved this for over athletic wear and weekends. The ribbing is so cute in person!

Zella High/Low Sweatshirt: A favorite sweatshirt with longer length in the back. I will order up in this!

Zella Live in Jogger Pant: My other favorite jogger without the moto detailing. Goes with everything and makes you look put together!

Zella Splits Ribbed Tank: One of the only tanks I liked in the sale! Perfect cut and super light and airy.

Adidas Badge of Sport Tank: I missed out on this version last year so I will be immediately adding this to my cart!

SHOES

A great shoe selection this year and they brought back my favorite sneaker that is so affordable! Also, for some reason the images being pulled for most items is showing them in an odd color or pattern. Almost everything I included below will be available in nude, black and other neutral colors so just click through to see once the sale is live!

Adidas Gazelle Sneaker: My #1 pick for sneakers!!! I bought these years ago and get asked about them all the time. They legitimately stopped making them and I couldn’t find them at a single retailer so when I saw they were back, I was ecstatic! Order TTS.

Adidas Swift Run Sneaker: Love these so much plus the color is to die for! If you are in the market, get them!

Blondo Noreen Knee High Boot: This was my #1 boot purchase a few years ago and I then subsequently had all my friends buying them. They are WATERPROOF! All their boots are and it is life changing especially if you live somewhere that get’s a lot of rain and/or snow. They hold up really well, are insanely comfortable and you don’t have to worry about them during the winter.

Marc Fisher Zurri Loafer: This is my #1 loafer pick! So chic, perfect for work and the softest leather. Runs TTS.

Sam Edelman Welles Bootie: Love these classic leather boots and the shorter heel!

Jeffrey Campbell Raven Bootie: These are almost identical to my sock booties which I wore all last fall and winter. The tighter shaft looks great with skirts, dresses and skinny jeans!

Vince Camuto Gigietta Bootie: You all know how I feel about Vince Camuto and I think they are one of the best brands to shop during the sale. They have classic styles that wear well and are so comfortable.

Vince Camuto Nethera Bootie: My pick if you need a classic short bootie! The perforations are so tiny and chic.

Sam Edelman Leahla Boot: I love the heigh of this boot! This is a new style this year and I will immediately buy it.

Sam Edelman Riza Flat: Love these! Great style, super flattering and I love a suede shoe. These would be perfect work shoes that you could wear all weekend too.

DRESSES & SKIRTS

I kept this category very small because there weren’t a ton of things that caught my eye but the few that did, I love!

BP Waffle Knit Jumpsuit: This is one of the first things I will be stalking and trying on in store! Waffle knit and a jumpsuit, it’s my dream item!

BB Dakota Crop Jumpsuit: This reminds me so much of my Everlane jumpsuit I love and I am going to try to hunt down the white in store to try on!

Halogen Pleated Midi Skirt: I LOVE this skirt and think it’s so much prettier than the other leopard option. The pleats are flattering and the print is super chic. Great for work  or weekend!

Leith Wrap Mini Dress: The version of this dress from last year was one of my favorite purchases and this one looks just as gorgeous. Leith always kills it with the fit!

Leith Midi Sweater Dress: I missed this last year and was so sad so I will immediately order this when the sale goes live! I will order up a size since it’s so fitted but think this would be so cute over a bump too!

Mock Neck Bodycon Dress: Love this! Will order it a size up and think the mock neck is so good!

Halogen Midi Sweater Skirt: Another add to cart immediately! I think sweater dresses and skirts look really luxe and this would be perfect for parties or work.

MISCELLANEOUS

T3 Cura Hair Dryer: I live for this hair dryer. I know it’s a little pricey but it works so quickly, doesn’t damage my hair and has held up great!

Barefoot Dreams Throw: This blanket only seems pricey until you try it. It’s basically a cloud and well worth it. I take it to bed 🙂

Slip Pillowcase: This is definitely an indulgence but I legit just bought this and didn’t realize it would be in the sale. Anything I can do to prevent wrinkles that Brooklyn Blonde get’s behind has me convinced.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Kit: I am trying to move over to all clean beauty but the CT stuff is hard to pass up. This lip kit is to die for!

neuLASH Serum: I bought this last year because of your recommendations and love it! If you are in the market for a lash serum that works, get this!

Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible Strapless Bra: This is the bra I shared a few weeks ago that you all recommended and I am so excited it’s in the sale. You all said it was great for bustier women too!

Hanky Panky Undies: This is my go to underwear and it’s a great time to stock up on it!

Madewell Choker Necklace: This is the only accessory I loved! If you are in the market for a choker, I’m into this one.

Halogen Panama Hat: I love a good felt hat during the fall and winter and this Halogen one is always good quality.

Happy shopping and see you back here soon!
