SHOP THE POST:
Hello, leather pencil skirt. I didn’t know I needed you, but I may never be the same. I’m exaggerating (well, kind of) but I did fall totally in love with this skirt when I spotted it in the store.
Pencil skirts aren’t usually something that’s in my wardrobe rotation. Mainly because I don’t dress up for work and often opt for dresses on the weekends and special occasions. However, this skirt has convinced me otherwise. I love the deep green color for fall and think it can be paired with anything from this sleeveless sweater to a striped turtleneck and eventually a chunky sweater. Unlike most form fitting pieces, this skirt is made from a fairly stretchy material making it breathable. The waist has an elastic band inside so there is room to move and I love the midi length.
I decided to pair it with this simple black shell, that I have been layering underneath everything and these oxblood pumps. The rounded toe and chunky heel give it a more fun vibe but I think a sleek pair of stilettos could dress it up quickly!
The greatest part of this look is it’s all giving back. Ann Taylor teams up with Breast Cancer Research Foundations every October to help raise money to find a cure for a disease that affects so many. During this month, 91 cents of every dollar spent at the store goes towards research and ending this disease. Ann Taylor has already donated $27 million dollars to BCRF and I think that is something we can all get behind.
There were so many good finds when I was in the store so I rounded up some of my favorites from their new collection below, it’s so good. Happy shopping for a cause and hope you are all having a wonderful week!
