We are gearing up for a very busy weekend around here which is unlike most of our weekends. I really am a pajamas and movie night in kinda girl but am excited about everything we have going on this weekend. Tonight is the first installation of the new ‘Iron Chef’ dinners we’re doing with some of our friends. It’s three couples and each dinner everyone will pick a course to make and all the food will need to contain a certain ingredient. This week we picked coffee so if you have any good side or appetizer recipes with coffee, send them my way!
My parent’s graciously offered to watch Zain and this will be the first time since we moved in that he’s sleeping over there! At first I was just going to have my mom hang out here but when she offered to take him to their place and I realized that meant I could sleep in on Saturday, I jumped at the chance 😉 She’s dropping him off Saturday morning on her way to work and Trevor’s parents are coming in town! They are hanging out for the rest of the weekend and I’m excited to have them over. Our place is slowly coming together and I’ve mostly finished the guest room which I’ll share soon!
Sadly, this was the only day they could make it down this month but I had already made evening plans so I’ll hand with them till I head to Cincinnati with girlfriends. We are visiting our friend Rachel for the evening and taking a candle making class which I am so excited for. I’ll report back on it and hopefully also get some sleep this weekend.
Anyhow, enough of that. I’m excited about today’s post because so many of you have been asking me about what to buy for fall and I thought this capsule wardrobe would be helpful. These are pieces you can mix and match every which way and everything in this fall capsule wardrobe under $100.
There are millions of great ones out there and truth be told, Madewell makes my favorites. I just snagged this color blocked one and am pretty sure I will be wearing it constantly but this H&M one is a real find! It’s super soft and such a great price plus it comes in the two best neutral shades!
I don’t know why I waited so long to buy a good lace cami but I use it way more than I ever thought I would. I think now that the temp’s are dropping it’s an even better buy because you can layer it under just about anything!
I actually just purchased these (40% off can’t be beat) and love them. The brown color was just what I was looking for and I love that the heel is small and walkable.
I am still wearing the leather jacket I bought years ago because they just never go out of style. There are tons of affordable options and I highly recommend investing in one!
This windowpane scarf is neutral enough that it can be mixed and match with almost any outfit and isn’t boring.
I own this in several colors in the long and short sleeve versions. I am constantly wearing them and they seem to hold up really well.
I probably could have made an entire capsule wardrobe from just Everlane pieces because I love the brand that much but I included some of my favorites for fall including this sweater. The cut is so classic and the material is incredibly soft. I have it in black and grey and can’t say enough good things about it!
I know this may seen on the trendier side for a capsule wardrobe but I really think it’s an essential this season. Pair it with the lace cami and heels for a night out or jeans and sneakers for daytime. They are so timeless and this sale find is a steal!
I debated including a black jean but I think this pair is great for everything! I love the fit and dress them up or down all the time and have even made them work for the office with a blazer and loafers. Fit TTS!
We all know we need multiple sweaters and this second one is a great fit and classic color lineup. Do yourself a favor and get it!
