Our Outdoor Refresh

Good morning and hello outdoor entertaining season!

With everything going on in the world over the past year, we are ecstatic to be able to safely entertain small groups of our friends in the backyard this summer. Our kitchen is still currently under construction but luckily we have this great space out back to keep us sane on the weekends.

As with many of our home projects, we turned to Bed Bath and Beyond for the refresh. They are truly a trusted partner that I genuinely love and enjoy collaborating with. I always find the in-store consultants crucial and even during this trying times they have been amazing. We registered for both kids at Buy Buy Baby and I called the store more times that I care to admit for help and they were always so responsive. If you have questions about any outdoor pieces you are looking at online and can’t get into the store, I highly recommend reaching out because their customer service is great.

A few things we were hoping to address with this refresh was wear and tear. Our outdoor sofa and coffee table had taken quite the rundown over the past few years and I quickly realized we may need to invest in something more substantial that could last us long term. Outdoor furniture can be pricey but I knew I wanted pieces I wouldn’t have to replace in a year or two this time around. I also wanted more real estate and bigger pieces! Our last sofa wasn’t terribly deep and I always wish we could put our feet up and relax a bit more. I also wanted a much larger coffee table since we don’t have space for a dining table in our backyard. Two other items on our bucket list were an outdoor bar cart to help with entertaining and a fire pit for cooler nights! I thought it might be helpful to walk through the pieces I chose and share a few similar options in case you are looking.

Safavieh Montford Teak 3-Seat Sofa

I immediately fell in love with this sofa and the gorgeous cream cushions paired with the wood! What sold me was the depth of the sofa which almost feels daybed like and that the cushion covers zip off so you can wash them. So far it’s been a cinch to keep clean with just a quick spray and a cover at night.

Safavieh Montford Rectangle All-Weather Teak Coffee Table in Natural

I love a matching set and I was ecstatic this coffee table was very large and could accommodate multiple adults and kids! I also love that it’s not too high off the ground so we can sit around it to play games or eat. It’s been a cinch to wipe off and clean and I am a huge fan of this brand in general!

Linon Home Catalan Trolley in Teak

GUYS! If you are looking for an outdoor bar cart, I can’t recommend this one enough. We love it and it’s a great price. I love that it has space for wine bottles so you don’t have to stress over them falling over and ample space. I can fit all of our glasses, outdoor plates, napkins and smores accessories on it!

Peaktop Round Wood-Burning Fire Pit in Grey

I spent a lot of time investigating fire pits and reviews and was ecstatic to find this one. Not only did it fit my aesthetic but I love that it’s not too big, easy to keep clean and maintain and has the grate cover. We keep it on the brick of our patio and have no complaints so far!

KAS Lucia Westport Rug in Beige

I found this indoor/outdoor rug after searching for a neutral option and fell in love with the design! I think it’s clean and classic and the stripe does a great job at holding dirt. It also has a little but of thickness to it so it’s been great for sitting and playing with the kids on!

S’more to Love Telescoping Stainless Steel S’more Stick

We have become a smores family since we got the firepit and I love these sticks! They are easy to clean, great for Zain to use when extended, and have held up well.

I am so happy with every piece we chose and love the way it all came together. We have already been hosting people and I am so happy to have the added space and functionality!

Very pretty! I think the furniture looks great and it matches the fence really well. It all looks so elegant! What happens when it rains, do you cover them with something?
