What’s your favorite color? It’s kind of an odd question I never thought much about, but last week I noticed a distinct pattern to my wardrobe. After posting a recent outfit photo to Instagram, I took a look at my feed and realized emerald green was everywhere.
For a long time, I thought I was a person who just wasn’t really into color. I remember being at a brand meeting recently and the strategist asking me to describe my overall color palette and feel. I answered with a simple ‘I’m not a huge fan of color but like pops every now and then’ I then realized they had my Instagram feed pulled up on their projector, and there was color everywhere.
Well, it looks like I may have had a misperception of what I liked. I am not sure I have one favorite color, although this jade green color is definitely it for the fall season. I do think I have more vibrance in my life than I thought. Although I prefer moody photography and edgier wardrobe choices, I still love vibrance.
I think it was a good reminder to not pigeonhole yourself into one style or color you think you may like. Your style, brand, wardrobe or just outfit that day can say as much or as little as you want it to, and you definitely don’t need to restrict yourself.
Since green happens to be my color of the moment, I was elated when I spotted this Blank NYC suede moto jacket back in stock! It has been in and out of stock since the Nordstrom anniversary sale and I was kicking myself for not buying it then. I paired it with a few of my fall favorites, this slip dress and my over the knee boots.
I know we have had this discussion many times, but I fully support the investment in these boots. I struggled with the purchase for a year before deciding to take the plunge and trust me, you won’t be disappointed. I love the heeled version but if I was going to spend that much money on a pair of shoes, I wanted to be sure I would get a lot of use out of them. For my lifestyle, a flat is much easier for day to day life and these are by far the most well tailored boots I’ve ever worn.
If you are debating the purchase I suggest trying them on in store. They are very tall and you want to be sure they hit your leg where you prefer. People often ask me about the highland vs lowland and I honestly love them both. I think once you try them on, you’ll have a feeling as to what suits your legs best. I will also say they fit slim legs tightly. I have always had a problem finding boots that didn’t swallow my legs. Although I’m a curvy girl I have chicken legs, especially my calves so these were a dream come true.
Let me know if you have any questions about them and hope you guys are having a wonderful week!
