So I’m sure everyone has realized at this point that I have an addiction to off the shoulder pieces but they are so fun for summer and I love how loose & airy this one is. This piece had a few things I seriously loved – the length in the back is longer than the front, the two tiers of ruffles are so chic and the arm holes are separate and actually feel secure!

Ever realize the littlest details make you the most happy.

It was the perfect piece to enjoy a fun afternoon in the West Loop. It’s one of my favorite neighborhoods besides our own and my friend Blair and I usually meet at Soho House to work upstairs and shoot on Wednesday’s. It’s so beautiful and the decor is impeccable – making it the perfect cozy spot to work on your laptop all day. The food is so good but it’s also nice that we can walk to a ton of different spots to grab lunch. ‘Lady days’ are what we call our weekly dates & they have been happening for well over a year now. It’s crazy to think I just met Blair a few years ago since we have become so close & it seems like we’ve known each other for years.

Wednesday’s are always a highlight for me during the week. It’s the perfect day to have off work and break up the monotony of going to the office. It’s also as equally productive as fun! It’s hard work to keep a blog running and throw in work and life and it’s a real challenge. Wednesday’s are great because we can get a few outfits shot, catch up with each other & get so much writing and content planned for the next week. It allows me to come home at the end of the day and be ahead. Blogging was wearing on me before I really figured out a schedule – now, I feel like I go into the weekend with a few small tasks on my to do list but no major work and that feels great. People often ask me who takes me photos and how our friendship came about and you will have to check out her post to get the full back story on that!

Last Wednesday in particular we were celebrating Blair’s birthday and the end of a crazy stressful weekend for me.  Long story short I was frazzled from a less than ideal encounter at work & was ready to relax. We headed to Cruz Blanca – a new Rick Bayless spot that opened up on Randolph Street that is perfectly casual and not only has some amazing tacos but their own brews. We enjoyed a beer, the open air & of course some chips & salsa.

The day was absolutely stunning & the sunshine had been long awaited in Chicago.

I just got these black mules in the mail and have been wearing them non stop, seriously. They have a shorter chunkier heel and are perfect to dress up or down while still feeling chic. They are a little bit of an investment but I can’t say enough good things about M.Gemi and their customer service. I initially ordered true to size (side note: you definitely need to order 1/2 size up) and they were so amazing and gracious about my exchange and sent me the new size before I even mailed the old ones back. I don’t know about you but quick shipping and customer service is everything to me now.

I kept everything else simple and have been wearing this long choker despite Trevor’s confusion, hah. I love how simple and fun it is and will probably tie it in a bow with more outfits. Anyone else on the bandwagon?

How are you guys most productive?

I just commented on Blair’s blog about how I’ve been toying with the idea of taking off one week day per month to dedicate solely to the blog. I wish I could do more, but my full-time work schedule is too crazy! And I don’t think summertime is going to make me any more productive on the weekends 😉 Loved this peek into how you spend your Wednesdays!

    • Oh that’s such a great idea – it really does take so much time and I’m lucky to have that one day off. Weekends are for life and you don’t to dread working on the blog 🙂 Hope you are having a wonderful weekend lady!
