I can’t believe how quickly my second trimester is flying by! Everyone told me it would, but I had so many plans and ideas for pregnancy that have seemed to fall by the wayside. I’m trying to soak up every minute, without panicking about what’s to come! I’m feeling very lucky and grateful these past few weeks for this sweet baby growing inside me. It’s such a miracle and I just can’t wait to meet my new best friend!

Feeling: Really good still! I am definitely ‘popping’ more and it’s crazy to me how it literally looks like I shoved a basketball under my shirt. I’m waiting for the day I wake up and am terribly uncomfortable, luckily that hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been maintaining my workouts and I think my prenatal weight training class has helped a ton. My legs and back seem to be a lot stronger and I think that’s helping keep some of the discomfort at bay. Also, thank you for all the questions about my workout routine, it’s nothing crazy but I’ll be sharing all the details in the next few weeks!

Eating: EVERYTHING still! I’m eating small meals all day because when I get too hungry, it gets scary. It happens so quickly too – I can’t wait to eat so have to be fully equipped with snacks all day. I’ve been loving the Snap Kitchen plan I’m on and will be sharing all the details on that soon too!

Sleeping: Better! I think I am much more tired after work these days and it’s helping me sleep through the night. I come home exhausted and am falling asleep between 7 and 8 some nights and waking up far less frequently.

Wearing: More non maternity clothes than maternity still. Yoga pants are really working their way into my rotation and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can throw on simple cotton dresses. I also recently picked up this stripe top and love the shape and fit! It’s so loose and I ordered my normal size and it fits the bump perfectly.

Favorite Wrap Dresses:

Shopping: It’s getting harder to resist. I did buy a new camera and lens, which I was way overdue for! I needed it for the blog but the baby was a great excuse to finally pull the trigger. We also just bought a new couch but still haven’t gotten anywhere on the nursery. How is time just flying by?

Reading: Thank you so much for all the reading suggestions after my last post! I got some new books in the mail from my sweet friend Rachel and have been loving ‘The Sh!t No One Tells You.’ It’s some honest truths I love hearing!

Thanks you again for following along on this journey with us and all your sweet comments and advice. I love reading about everyone’s experiences, since they are all so different and hope I am soaking up some of that advice!

  1. Beautiful dress, Shaheen! Those dark, jewel tone colors are beautiful against your skin tone. The book you’re reading sounds funny- if you keep reading similar ones, I’d be interested in a book list round up. There are so many pregnancy and parenting books out there- it’s hard to know which ones are worth the read.
