Good morning y’all!

I am so excited to finally share a peek into our finished dining room! It’s been just about a year that we’ve been in this house and I am so happy to have this room completed. I feel like I can now take a break from home decor and just enjoy what we’ve done.

As I’ve said before, home decor takes time for me. I like to piece things together slowly so I’m not rushing to make decisions and buying things just because I have no other options. I am so sad that I didn’t take more ‘before’ pictures of the room but trust me when I say it has really transformed.

I knew I wanted to wallpaper this room and make it much more moody and dramatic than it was. So when we painted the house before we moved in, I intentionally left this room the original yellow color. I am a huge fan of York Wallcoverings (the same brand I used in our guest bathroom) so I immediately searched their inventory. Grasscloth stuck out to me the most so I ordered a few samples and taped them up on the wall. I let them hang there for a few weeks to really let myself decide what direction to go. I was between a super dark green and black and decided to go dark. I thought I could add pops of color when it came to decor and didn’t want to tire of a color too quick.

After we had the wallpaper hung and the doors painted, I was ready for design decisions. I saw this burl dining table and immediately knew I wanted it. I used that as the center of my design and kind of played around with it. I slowly started with decor and then struggled to make some big decisions like chairs and a buffet.

That’s when Havenly reached out and it was the perfect timing! If you haven’t heard of the service, it’s basically a virtual interior designer site that has everything in one place. You can chat back and forth with your designer who will send you questions, 3d mock up’s and options for everything. You can ‘heart’ pieces you love and see them in your room virtually before deciding. Your designer can also purchase your pieces for you so it makes interior design and home decor shopping much more streamlined for someone who may not enjoy it normally. After I chatted with our designer Isaac and browsed his suggestions, I had a clearer vision of how I wanted the furniture to flow.

We had originally thought we would change out this light fixture since it was the only one remaining from when we moved in. However, I can not express to you how much this thing weighs. Once we felt the weight of it and had the wallpaper installed it kind of grew on us and I think it goes with the room.

When I started looking at chairs I knew I wanted something that was functional, comfortable but still chic and had such a hard time finding anything until I saw these Audrey chairs. I LOVE them! I can’t tell you how comfortable they are are as well as being gorgeous and being easy to clean. I went with black legs and the Storm Pebble Weave fabric and do not regret anything about them.

The buffet was a little more of a debacle. I legitimately couldn’t find what I was looking for anywhere. Everything seemed a bit too modern or traditional for my taste and I was randomly scouring Craigslist one night and saw this piece! It was fate. I bought it immediately and then ordered these handles and knobs right away. I touched up the paint, changed the hardware and it was exactly what I wanted. A great reminder to check vintage shops and craigslist!

After that, I finished styling out the shelves and it finally felt complete!

What do you guys think of the transformation?

Gorgeous!!! I’ve had my eye on that same dining room table. I’ve read online that it scratches easily, but only a handful of reviews mentioned that. Have you found that to be true?

Thank you! We haven’t but we don’t eat at it every day. We’ve hosted several dinners though and have game nights on it and haven’t had an issues thus far. I love it!

Which color is the rug in? The Neutral, or Ivory? Love it all!
