Happy Monday!

How was everyone’s weekend? I know I mentioned this Friday but Trevor’s parents and his brother and sister in law came for in town for the weekend with their little boy and stayed with us. Zain’s cousin Baylor is only a few weeks younger than him and I was so excited to have them visit and for the boys to get some quality time together!

It was kind of a whirlwind weekend since I flew back from Chicago on Thursday afternoon (more on that later) but man was I happy to see Zain. I feel like every time I leave him it get’s worse and worse. I used to be able to handle it for a day or two but I balled crying at the airport when I said bye to him and then mostly stared at his pictures while I was gone, anyone else?

I’m so happy to be home with him and this week is going to be a great one! Trevor is actually off work the whole week and since I start back to dentistry so soon we are going to try to take advantage of this time and have a few day dates and plan some fun activities for Zain. I am still going to send him to school on his normal days because I don’t want to throw him off his routine but that will also give Trevor and I some time to hang.

Also, update on Zain at school! He still cries when I drop him off but he stops so quickly after I leave the room (I usually stand in the hall and listen like a crazy person) He also used to start crying when I would come to pick him up and he would see me but no more! He is now running around playing with his friends and when he see’s me he comes in the room, he runs over with a big smile and gives me a hug, walks me to the fridge so he can get his lunchbox and then blows his teacher a kiss. It seriously melts my heart and I am so happy he’s feeling better about everything. He also tends to be in the best mood when we bring him home from school so I feel like that’s a great sign he’s enjoying himself.

On a fashion note, I know no one wants to talk about Fall but it actually felt like it had arrived when I was in Chicago. The weather was seriously amazing and I was beyond thankful to pull out this waffle knit top from the Nordstrom sale and my new mules. I shared these shoes over on Instagram last week but I am in love with them! I own a ton of shoes from Splendid because they are always so incredibly comfortable and I loved the notch detail on these. They come in a few colors and will be perfect all fall long.

Hope you guys are having a great start to your Monday!
