Good morning friends!
I know it’s been a few days since I have written anything new and the days seems to fly and also creep by. Like most of you, these past weeks have been a crazy time for our family. We have been keeping our distance and staying at home to hopefully help flatten the curve of COVID-19. I opened up a bit about my past experience with H1N1 (The Swine Flu) in hopes that it may show a different side to this pandemic than we’ve been seeing and hearing and remind people just how important it is to stay home.
Not leaving the house for over two weeks seemed to have flown by while also feeling eerily bizzare each and every day. Anyone else? I have also been receiving a lot of the same questions over on Instagram: what workouts are you doing at home, what is Zain’s schedule like, good recipes? So, my hope is over the next few weeks is that I can answer those and be a helpful resource for you all while maintaining some kind of normalcy here on the blog. I also have a few partnerships coming in the next few weeks that I think will still be helpful during this time so bear with me!
In a wonderful twist of fate, our Peloton bike arrived last Tuesday. If you remember Trevor and I had been interested in one months ago when I asked you all for your opinions over on Instagram. The resounding answer was to get one so we added it to our goals toward the end of my pregnancy. I figured I would be scaling back on gym classes and it would be amazing to have post baby.
However, when we cancelled our babymoon a few weeks ago we decided just to go for it! I must say, we love it. The classes are HARD and efficient and it’s so nice to be able to get in a workout in my house with just a sports bra and shorts on and then immediately jump in the shower. The most recommended instructors were Cody, Ally Love and Robin but I have found that I care more about the music than the instructor. I usually choose the ‘more music, less instructor’ setting since you can see their recommendations on the screen. Even if you don’t have the Peloton bike or treadmill, you can still use the app for free for 90 days currently. I have heard friends rave about the floor classes and how easy it is to use with their own at home bikes.
I rounded up some of my favorite at home workouts below as well as some of my favorite influencers that have been sharing live videos of them leading workouts which has been really fun to do!
POPSUGAR Fitness on YouTube
The Peloton App – free for the first 90 days

CorePower Yoga on Demand
Tracy Anderson online workouts – The first 14 days are free!

Headspace – This is the only meditation app I use and they are now offering free sessions to all healthcare workers which is amazing. If you haven’t tried meditating before, this is how I started and it’s a great mind exercise to practice before bed.
Kate Lemere – one of my favorite instructors to follow. She teaches at the Barry’s Bootcamp in Chicago and her stories are hilarious. She has been streaming a live 30 minute no equipment needed workout at 6am CST and you can access them on her profile for the rest of the day. Trevor and I did one and couldn’t walk for two days.
Fit with ASD – Grace is a friend and one of the fittest people I know! She has a workout site that offers an at home program in case you are looking and she has been sharing great workouts on her Instagram too.
Studio Three in Chicago – This studio opened after I moved but my friend Lauren loves it and they are posting a free workout on their Live every single day!
Ash Wilking – This account was sent in by you all and seemed to be a great workout!
Hope that these are helpful and I am going to try and organize a group Peloton ride this week as well for those of you that have one so stay tuned for that over on Instagram! If you have any additional workouts you love, leave them in the comments for everyone!
